BOS non clinical 2009 is primarily a partnering event; a forum to connect biotech & pharma outsourcing executives with a network of specialist CROs operating at the discovery/development interface. In addition to 1 to 1 partnering we have organised a programme of speakers who will deliver perspective and experience from growing biotech, established pharma and the service sector.
We are pleased to announce a first class programme of speakers for BOS 2009 including the following experts in their fields; Dr Zoran Rankovic, Director Medicinal Chemistry, Schering-Plough will be opening proceedings by examining some of the trends shaping discovery within a pharma setting. Dr Wolfgang Ebenbeck, Flourine Team Leader at Saltigo GmbH will then outline their capabilities in flourine chemistry. Giving the biotech perspective at Discovery will be Dr Stephen Shuttleworth who will be looking at the approach at Karus Therapeutics to Lead Optimisation. Stephen is the Chief Scientific Officer at Karus. We are very pleased that Dr Andy Merritt who is Associate Director, Chemistry, Medical Council Research & Technology will be guiding the Discovery session as chair.
Kicking off the Early Discovery session will be Dr Chris Hobbs, Group Director of Chemistry at Proximagen Ltd. Following his participation in the inaugural BOS event in 2006 we are very pleased that Prof Hans-Jurgen Federsel, Director of Science, Global Process R&D, AstraZeneca will be participating again in BOS 2009 Prof Federsel is a leading international authority on process development and will give some of his insights into the trends shaping PR&D.
To close the 2009 programme we welcome Dr Andy Parsons, VP Head of Preclinical Development at the Center Excellence for External Drug Discovery (CEEDD), GlaxoSmithKline. This talk should give a valuable insight into how CEEDD work with their biotech collaboration partners and CROs to achieve R&D goals. This talk should also be very useful for biotech who are interested to learn more about how collaboration with a pharma partner would work in practice.
We hope you will agree it is a varied and interesting programme.
We hope that you will enjoy!
